Steps by Which Desire Can Be Transferred into Riches
In his book, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill describes the six steps that are needed to transform your burning desires into reality. The emphasis is primarily on money but you can substitute money for anything else that you desire. The principles still remain true. The principles are summarized below:
1. Make a complete mental image of the object you desire. Napoleon Hill states it as “Fix in your mind the exact amout of money you desire…Be definite as to the amount.”
2. Determine the means which you will utilize to obtain this result. Napoleon Hill states you should know “exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire.” Again, you can substitute any other object for money.
3. Make a deadline. How long is it going to take you to attain the object that you desire? Napoleon Hill states that you should “establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.”
4. Plan and strategize. Nothing on Earth was created without a plan. Hill states here that you should “create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.”
5. Write it all down. Take the steps done about and make them real by writing them down. Hill says that you should “write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for it acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.”
Last but not least.
6. Memorize the statement you just wrote in step 5. Visualize it. Hill states that you should “read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. AS YOU READ — SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MONEY.”
Step 6 is probably the most valuable of the steps presented by Napoleon Hill. In step 6, you’re actually envisioning that substance/object already within your grasps. You’ve already attained it. This step is one of the most effective ways to apply the Law of Attraction. Even though Napoleon Hill wasn’t alive to see the Secret or to see, read, or listen to the various resources regarding the Law of Attraction, his writings are definitely in line with its principles, and I think that if he were alive, he would have been a definite proponent for it.
Just to reiterate, here is a succinct list of the principles or steps outlined by Napoleon Hill in order for you to turn desire into riches.
1 Make a mental image of the object you desire.
2. Determine what you intend to give in exchange for the object of your desire.
3. Create a deadline for attaining this object.
4. Plan and strategize. Create a plan.
5. Create a statement where you describe steps 1–4.
6. Read, recite the statement from step 5. Visualize yourself already possessing the object.
Here are some videos from Napoleon Hill where he describes these principles:
The videos are actually audio rebroadcasts. It’s just Napoleon HIll describing desire in detail.
